How a Jaguar Smart Key Works
Jaguar smart key lets you to lock and unlock your vehicle from a distance. However, like all electronics it requires electricity, provided by a battery.
If your Smart Key battery is beginning to degrade, your vehicle might indicate this with a decrease in the range of its signals. The message center may also display the alert "SMART Key Battery Low".
Keyless Entry

Fortunately, this is easy to avoid by using the remote start system only if you're certain that you're in a secure location and that no one else can see your smart key.
